Overview

Piracy Kills was built as a simulated client brief. The brief was to produce a multimedia piece that addressed and illustrated what file sharing is, when and why it is illegal and also the consequences of being involved with the activity.

The overall project was approached as campaign against file sharing therefore my aim was to produce a website that appealed to adults and the household bill payer. The reason it was approached in this manner was due to the high percentage of youngsters that illegally download. To achieve this I used a form of brand hi-jacking by borrowing the commonly known ‘Smoking Kills’ campaign and remediating it for my own purpose.

I also produced a downloadable poster within the site to give the user a chance to virally spread the word of the campaign. Overall, I feel that the campaign has an exciting appeal between online and printed products.
